Really Old Hockey Stick Sells for Big Bucks

World's Oldest Hockey StickIt’s a 150+ year-old curved length of hickory wood. It looks more like a crude attempt at a cane, but it’s the oldest of it’s kind.

This hockey stick is said to be the oldest in the world, and last week it sold on an internet auction for a cool 1.9 million dollars. Gord Sharp is the 45 year-old Ontario man who sold the heirloom he’s owned since he was nine.

The buyer remains anonymous, but has released a statement in which he intends to put the stick in the Hocky Hall of Fame until he can decide what he would like to do with this priceless stick.

….I just wouldn’t be the average white guy if I didn’t point out here that it’s an old piece of wood. If you look hard enough, you can find older pieces of wood, for much less money. Now that’s just me talking, the guy who doesn’t have 1.9 million to spend on a hockey stick.
