So much crap, so little time.

Wow. Never before have I ever heard a celebrity or athlete come right out and say something like, “Well, you know I hate gay people.” Tim Hardaway was taking an interview from Dan Le Batard on CNN sports radio when Le Batard asked him how he would handle playing with a gay teammate. Here is his reply:
Do you believe that? Agree or disagree, you gotta be shocked with how eager he seemed to be about telling the world he’s a homophobic. See my previous article on homophobia for my thoughts on this matter. I’m sure “Timmy” would agree with me there.
This ranks up there with Rick Santorum’s comments about gays:
“If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything,”
Santorum basically blames everything on the gays. Whilst I agree with Santorum, you gotta be careful about what you say publicly. As for Hardaway, it won’t matter; he’s retired. As for Santorum, I think it bit him in the ass during the midterm elections last year. He’s no longer a Senator from PA; he’s just a gay-bashing citizen now.

I’m not sure what your, Tim’s and Rick’s problem is, having read your homophobe post.
You seem to say you have no problem with gay people as long as they don’t shove their gayness in your face, so to speak.
Tim is more upfront, he is homophobic, afraid that in a locker room with a dozen or more very large people that a gay guy will attack him.
Rick is just being Rick. Probably one of the reasons he’s a private citizen now. But you say you agree with him. Which is it? Your post on homophobia and statement that you just want to be left alone? Or, Ricks fear that Western Civilization will crumble if two girls or guys kiss each other?
Regards,
Dave.
My stance is that it’s not really fair to call it a “phobia”. I’m not afraid of homosexuality, the lifestyle, or the concept of it.
Personally, I’m not keen on the concept of homosexuality. I don’t agree that it’s something you’re born with. Name something else you’re inclined towards by birth. (Talents and skills aside - we’re not talking about an over or under-developed portion of the brain here).
I say “personally” because I’m not a public figure. My career and reputation aren’t at stake when I open my mouth. Santorum was the best senator my state has had that I can remember. I love the ultraconservative politicians, because although they’ll fuck something up once in a while, the fuck ups are - well - once in a while.
I know what makes America great. I know that it’s allowing others to enjoy their freedoms - particularly the ones I don’t care for - which gives me the right to enjoy my freedom - even when it’s not convenient for others.
Civilization doesn’t crumble under the weight of the actions of one or two people, but the ever-increasing popularity of the liberal lifestyle is.
I think homosexuality in and of itself is not a problem. I think the gay community asking me to accept a notion which makes me uncomfortable should be looked upon as unfavorably as when I express my disdain for it. Otherwise isn’t it just bigotry?(sort of in reverse) Accept me for who I am: a guy who’s not comfortable with homosexuality.
With all that said, I don’t care that it exists; I care that my nose is rubbed in it.
