So much crap, so little time.

When signed up for the Computer Science major at Slippery Rock University, I swore an oath that I would never use my powers for anything but good. Today, I have broken my oath. I have taken it upon myself to invent the world’s most useless software. Despite it’s uselessness, it’s extremely valuable. This sounds paradoxical, so I’ll explain it for you.
I’ve developed an application, while doing virtually nothing, looks like it is churning on and on. Run this bad boy on your desktop at work and sit back with a magazine, while it runs. The program gives the appearance of scanning the files on your C:\ drive. This is what it looks like (click for full-sized image):
What is it really doing? Not a damn thing. For the added affect, I even added a progress bar, which appears to be showing you the status of the file scan. Again…it’s pointless but I’m sure you already see the possibilities. Pass it on to your friends if you like. There is no license, but I’m not releasing the source code (unless you ask for it). It took me 20 minutes to do this - which is about as long of an attention span as I have.
What you’ll need:
Installation Instructions:
If you have the .NET framework installed, this code doesn’t need to be installed, unzip and run! Otherwise, install the .NET framework first, then run.
Roadmap:
C’mon…a roadmap? I have no plans for this, however, if you’ve got a good idea for another useless application, let me know. I’ll build it and add it here!
WP Cumulus Flash tag cloud by Roy Tanck requires Flash Player 9 or better.

A linux version of that would be great
Only you would create something like this. AS a network engineer I can see the value in it though. If I need a break I can just run this and do nothing. Great work.
And there it is!!! We had fun talking about this at lunch and coming up with the idea! It’s nice to see if come to fruition! A fake defrag proggy and file copy, as well as this, is where it’s at!
DarWraith,
I ought to give credit where credit is due… I wasn’t the only mastermind. In fact, neither of us were “REALLY” the brains… That distinction goes to K Mo’
Oh I don’t know about that… KMo… You sure? Was I enjoying too much “ICED TEA” at the time? Cause I know before your KILLER APP, I moved stuff to and fro as smoke and mirrors! Hmm… I guess every once in a while a liberal SW guy finds an acorn!
I’d like to congratulate you, that’s a real way to use a programmer knowledge!!
To make fun stuff not only to work all the time.
Could u send me the code? I think it would be great to ad it a couple of things. Thanks! Great work
