Why He Won:
First, the hair… WTF dude?? You make enough money to do something other than that, right?

Second… you have something in your posession of which there are only 100 in this country - a vacant U.S. Senate seat. Your job is to hand this extremely rare item over to a responsible person; a person who will use it to do the will of the people represented by this seat. You could toil over the candidates and their qualifications, their backgrounds, their experiences, their tendencies, and even their loyalties. This is the responsible thing to do, but do you go through all that headache? No.

Rather than finding the person most deserving and appropriate based on merit, you decide you’re going to give this seat to the highest bidder; you’re giving it to the person who  lines your pockets. Certainly you know this is a capital offense, punishable by your being stripped of your duties as governor, prison time, fines, and shame.

In light of the penalties, you proceed with your plan to monetize your state’s vacant senate seat. Because you have so shamed your state, your office, and even the democratic party, I hereby bestow upon you the title: Average White Guy of the Week for the week ending December 13, 2008. Keep up the good work!
